PAKTURK SCHOOLS’

HALLMARK OF INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

 

The 2008 Intel National Science Olympiad held in collaboration with Intel Education Initiative and Ministry of Education, Govt. of Pakistan took place in Islamabad at National Library Complex on 28-31 January 2008 where PAKTURK Educational Institutions left their indelible impact of outstanding achievement among 120 science research projects.

 

Out of total 15 award categories (10 as individual and 5 as team), PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges reserved 5 individual awards in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Mathematics and Physics.

 

PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges across Pakistan secured the First Position in the following science projects:

 

-           Biology Project:                    Medicinal Use of Date Fruit (Phoenix Dactylifera)

Treatment of Backache with Niacin Found in Date Fruit

            Hamas Ahmed Larik, Khairpur Branch

 

-           Chemistry Project:                              Cleaning of Acidic Water with Coal Ash

                    Zara Iqbal, Islamabad Girls Branch

 

-           Computer Studies Project:                                     Ultimate Control

                                Muhammad Awais, Peshawar Boys Branch

 

-           Physics Project:                                   Variable Colour Thermometer

                    Raja Ahsan, Peshawar Boys Branch

 

-           Mathematics Project:                                             Fibonacci’s Problem

       Waqar Ali, Karachi Boys Branch

 

 

Having secured the Grand Winners awards, Muhammad Awais (Computer Science Project: Ultimate Control) and Raja Ahsan (Physics Project: Variable Colour Thermometer) of Peshawar Branch are to compete for Pakistan in the 2008 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), to be held in the United States in the forthcoming months.

 

PAKTURK Educational Institutions had thus come a long way, having breezed through city and provincial rounds of the Intel Science Olympiads in October-November 2007 by securing 27 awards (including 8 Grand-Winner awards) out of total 75…
