THE JOY OF SUCCESS AT ALL-PAKISTAN FINAL ROUNDS

FOR 6th INTERNATIONAL TURKISH OLYMPIADS

 PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges held the initial Pakistan rounds for the forthcoming 2008 DILSET International Language Olympiads at the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad on February 10, 2008 with the participation of 41 students of PAKTURK educational institutions from Islamabad, Karachi, Khairpur Mirs, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta.

            Chief Guest of the Occasion was Mr Semih L Turgut, Deputy Head of Mission, Turkish Embassy Islamabad. The programme was presided by an eminent jury consisting of Retd. Col. Masood Akhtar Shaikh, Renowned Columnist and Writer; Mrs Leyla Turgut, Mrs Imtiaz Begum, Head of Turkish Dept. NUML; Dr Durmus Bulgur, Lecturer NUML Turkish Dept.; Mr Zekeriya Nas, Lecturer, NUML Turkish Dept.; Dr Abdulhamid Birisik, Mrs Abida Hanif, Lecturer, NUML Turkish Dept.; Mr. Kamil Ture, Director Education PAKTURK ICEF, Mr Murat Ervan, Director HR PAKTURK ICEF, and Mr Ubaid’ur Rehman, Journalist-Writer.

            Among the audience were His Excellency Dr Eynullah Madatli, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan; diplomats from Turkish Embassy; Mr Dashkin Shikarov, Consul, Embassy of Azerbaijan; Mr Ibrahim Ghaffarov, First Secretary, Embassy of Azerbaijan; Col. Murat Tekaev, Military Attache, Embassy of Turkmenistan; Mr Asim, Attache, Embassy of Azerbaijan; Mr Ismail Nazli, Chairman PAKTURK ICEF and Mr Fesih Celik, MD PAKTURK ICEF as well as a large number of educationists, professionals and parents.

    Having cleared the preliminary written and spoken tests in Turkish, shortlisted students displayed their stints in poetry-recitation and singing, which was evaluated by the Jury on through the rounds. After a rigorous and challenging contest, the following students have secured positions:

The first-position holders in each category are to represent Pakistan at the 6th International Turkish Olympiads to be held in Istanbul, Turkey in May 2008 among more than 100 world countries.

HALLMARK OF INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

The 2008 Intel National Science Olympiad held in collaboration with Intel Education Initiative and Ministry of Education, Govt. of Pakistan took place in Islamabad at National Library Complex on 28-31 January 2008 where PAKTURK Educational Institutions left their indelible impact of outstanding achievement among 120 science research projects.

Out of total 15 award categories (10 as individual and 5 as team), PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges reserved 5 individual awards in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Mathematics and Physics.

PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges across Pakistan secured the First Position in the following science projects:

Having secured the Grand Winners awards, Muhammad Awais (Computer Science Project: Ultimate Control) and Raja Ahsan (Physics Project: Variable Colour Thermometer) of Peshawar Branch are to compete for Pakistan in the 2008 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), to be held in the United States in the forthcoming months.

PAKTURK Educational Institutions had thus come a long way, having breezed through city and provincial rounds of the Intel Science Olympiads in October-November 2007 by securing 27 awards (including 8 Grand-Winner awards) out of total 75…
